whole foods journey

Have you ever spent every possible free moment indulging your desire to learn something new?  It seems like our librarian knows exactly what books to have ready for me when we visit the library each week.  If my eyes are not glued to one of Steve Solomon's gardening books, then I'm constantly absorbing as much information from a couple of new blogs.

Back in February I began telling about my burden to feed our family better; with whole foods, the way that God intended for our bodies to be fed.  While on this journey, I have been learning the reasoning behind many topics I've been exposed to over the years, but never really understood their importance, such as eating organic foods, sprouting wheat, and soaking grains and nuts.

So, I thought I would share the two websites that have been instrumental in my learning.

The first ~ the Weston A. Price Foundation

This is a good place to start.  It has several articles, by Sally Fallon, author of Nourishing Traditions.

The second ~ the Healthy Home Economist

My favorite part about her site is her extensive library of "how to" videos."  I have always loved learning via visual images and each of her videos are very informative.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of the sites.  Do you have something that you are passionate about learning?

I didn't know that the HHE had videos! Now I'm going to look into them. :)
I'm no "expert" but you know you can always ask me any questions about food!
Did I tell you about "Chemical Free Kids"? You must read it.

I, too, am working on feeding my family healthier meals. I haven't checked out the sites you posted yet but I do intend too. I have checked out the book by Sally Fallon several times from our library and have really learned a lot from it. I like "how to" videos myself. I am a learn by seeing type of person. Enjoy your day and God bless.

Hello again! I hope ya'll are doing well. :)

I thought I would share with you some information I have recently learned regarding your post. I have been hearing the Weston A. Price Foundation mentioned a lot as I've been researching online for answers to my own health problems. Since a lot of people seemed to put stock in what he said, I thought I should do some research on him. My search led me to this website that you might be interested in reading. http://www.quackwatch.org/01QuackeryRelatedTopics/holisticdent.html I give this to you with a caveat, though my dad is in the medical industry we most certainly do not trust the industry implicitly. We've seen first hand how some drugs, vaccines, and the like have ruined peoples health and lives. Thus we are not completely adverse to some of alternative medicine's treatments, as long as they are founded on science. From the looks of the article that I linked for you, Dr. Price's research wasn't founded on science or even good researching practices. Not to say that everything he says is wrong, but it seems like it might be a good idea to go to a more reliable source for your information.

Hope your having a great week! :)
